Rittal Korea Opens Doors to Incheon University Students
Visit Showcases Manufacturing Facility and Business Strategy in Songdo
Incheon,
Korea – Rittal Korea, a global manufacturing company located in Songdo,
Incheon, recently hosted a visit program for students from Incheon
University's German Language and Literature and French Language and
Literature departments. The program included a company introduction,
product demonstrations, tours of the factory and showroom, and a
question-and-answer session. Students had the opportunity to learn
firsthand about Rittal Korea's capabilities in industrial and IT
solutions.
The visit began with a
welcome address from Mr. Justin Lee, Managing Director of Rittal Korea.
Mr. Lee shared his reasons for joining Rittal Korea and his thoughts on
choosing a career path. He explained that unlike many other foreign
companies in Korea focused primarily on sales, Rittal Korea has built
stability through investment in its factory. He also emphasized the
trust he has in the German headquarters' commitment to high-quality
manufacturing as a key factor in his decision. For students choosing
their first job, he advised prioritizing personal importance.
Following the welcome, Mr. Choi Young-hwan, Product Manager in the Marketing Team, presented an overview of Rittal Korea.
Rittal
Korea specializes in enclosures and offers a variety of solutions
optimized for different industries. The company's steel enclosures are
produced with advanced mechanical engineering techniques and global
certifications, ensuring high quality. These products are used in
industrial settings for electrical switchboards and climate control
panels, crucial for stable power supply and preventing overheating to
protect equipment. Rittal Korea also incorporates IoT technology into
devices like smart panels to monitor energy flow and temperature in
production lines in real time, improving maintenance efficiency.
The
company actively pursues business by offering custom processing
services based on customer needs, focusing on industrial and IT
solutions. They provide integrated hardware and software solutions
(EPLAN) to support customers throughout the design and manufacturing
process, proposing efficient operating methods for manufacturing
environments.
Established in 1996,
Rittal Korea operates its headquarters in Songdo along with branches in
Gwangju and Busan, forming a nationwide sales network. The company has
approximately 100 employees and supplies products directly to key
customers through distributors and service partners. They produce around
50 finished enclosure products daily, expanding their value chain.
The
showroom tour, led by Product Manager Choi Young-hwan, introduced
Rittal Korea's main product lines. In addition to enclosures, Rittal
Korea offers power distribution systems, cooling systems, and other key
product groups, combining them to propose optimized solutions for
various industries. Technical strengths such as efficient cooling
technology for IT data center enclosures linked with industrial air
conditioners, and the busbar system for stable and efficient power
distribution, were highlighted. The smart panel system, utilizing IoT
for remote monitoring and management, was presented as an essential
solution for the era of industrial automation.
Next,
Mr. Choi Kyu-sang, Operation Team Leader, guided the factory tour.
Students observed various stages of enclosure production, including the
gasketing line, welding process, and assembly line. The manufacturing
process involves product receiving, frame welding, bending/painting,
film measurement, product processing and assembly, pre-shipment
inspection, packaging, shipping, and installation. The tour included a
visit to the MOD Center on the second floor, where products undergo
custom cutting and hole processing.

Rittal
Korea engages with customers through various online and offline
channels. The company aims to provide comprehensive solutions across the
entire manufacturing environment in collaboration with its software
partner, EPLAN.
This visit offered
the participating university students valuable insights into Rittal
Korea's advanced manufacturing capabilities, its range of industrial
solutions, and its vision for the future direction of the industry.
